That's the way this book begins as Bob's grandpa arrives in the kitchen from a good night's rest and takes notice that although the coffee is brewed, the skillet is cold and empty. Didn't take long from there for the other fellas to catch on and get the bacon and eggs going and it is a telling introduction for all the goings on in the kitchen and at "The Camp."

I have made my baked beans the same way for literally decades and never ventured away from them. Never needed to. They are basic, but reliable and tasty, and I was often requested to bring them to parties and functions over the years.

I was already nearly done with stacking groceries on the belt at the grocery store, when I remembered that a couple of recipes that I wanted to make use bottled chili sauce. Doesn't that always happen?

A quick glance near the checkout told me it wasn't gonna be close enough at hand to just do a run and grab, so rather than having to get back in a line for a couple of items (and probably finding another handful of things I really didn't need along the way), I decided I'd just go home and try to make up my own homemade version.
