Cinnamon Spiced Pecans from Billie's Pecans |
Billie's Pecans
I just love the opportunity to share a Mississippi company with y'all, so when Billie's Pecans contacted me to see if I'd like to try a sample, I was thrilled! Headquartered in Crenshaw Mississippi, the story of how Billie's came into existence, is one that any working mom can appreciate.
Raising her family of boys on a farm lined with pecan trees, Billie would retrieve the excess pecans that had fallen to the ground, using them to make the first batch of what would become her now famous cinnamon spiced pecans, like these pictured, right in her own family kitchen. Y'all, let me tell you, these are perfect - the best cinnamon spiced pecans I've ever tasted. Let's just say that they didn't last long.
With the encouragement of her son, she began selling her spiced pecans around town and built a business strictly from word of mouth. Founded in 1981, today the business is housed in a 100 year old building where Billie's family continues her legacy, shipping about 8,000 pounds of pecans treats every year.
