Air Fryer Garlic Shrimp
I love my air fryer! I may have mentioned that before??
It's great for reheating certain leftovers to bring back the crisp - like fried chicken - and it does an amazing job of reheating pizza. A lot of busy moms use them to cook freezer foods - like chicken nuggets and tenders, French fries and tater tots, corn dogs, egg rolls, and, in fact, many products have begun putting air fryer instructions on their packaging.
But I love it for cooking too!
It makes some really great wings, and meatballs and sausages of all kinds cook up beautifully in an air fryer, especially those little raw pork sausages that are super annoying to cook in a skillet. Pork chops, steak, fish, chicken and fried chicken, and even, yes, ribs!

Along with my Ninja Foodi grill - which I recently upgraded to the XL version and I'm so happy I did - my oven style air fryer is one of the top used appliances in my kitchen. I still have a basket one and wow, there are so many good ones out there now, but this is the one that sits out on my counter and is used all the time. Between those two appliances, my countertop oven (picked up to stand in for my regular oven when it went out) and my Instant Pots, I actually rarely use my big range or stovetop anymore. Well, unless you count for my cast iron storage that is!
Gotta love our modern conveniences.
One important thing to remember though, just like ovens, individual air fryer brands differ in wattage and how they cook; always monitor any air fryer recipe the first time you make it to adjust time as needed. This is actually a good practice anytime you make a new recipe. Also, total cooking time will depend on the size of the shrimp used.
What I love about this.
Toss.
Prepare the butter sauce with 2 tablespoons melted butter.
Juice half of the lemon, slice remaining half into wedges. I always have fresh lemons in the produce drawer. I like lemon in my sweet tea and they are a great umami addition to many dishes, especially seafood. Do you have one of these citrus juicers? They sure come in handy!
Add parsley. My parsley didn't last long in the garden this summer, so I'm using dried, which is a pantry staple for me and something I use a lot.
If you want the heat, add red pepper flakes and stir to mix well.
When the shrimp are finished cooking, transfer to bowl.
Add the garlic butter blend and toss again.
Serve immediately as an addition to many recipes using shrimp, serve as a snack shrimp, great when served in individual appetizer cups for a party pass around or toss with cooked pasta for a main dish meal.

One of the most popular dishes out there right now is some form of scampi after all, and y'all... shrimp is so quick and easy with the air fryer!

What I love about this.
- No muss no fuss with the air fryer. Bonus points if you buy your shrimp already shelled and deveined! Make sure that you flip the package for country of origin and ensure you are purchasing a shrimp product of the U.S.A. though. It's the best! More bonus points if it's Wild Caught Gulf Shrimp.
- Olive oil provides the classic roasted flavor you're used to and a necessary ingredient in my opinion. No worries - you're not actually "frying" remember?
- While salt and pepper will suffice, the mix of additional seasonings I'm using really bumps things up. If you got it, use it!
- Like roasted shrimp, these shrimp are so versatile that they can be used as part of a recipe, as a snack, or an appetizer or party pass-around.
Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F. Place shrimp in a bowl and toss with olive oil. For seasonings, I'm using kosher salt, freshly cracked black pepper and lemon pepper, Old Bay seasoning, Creole or Cajun seasoning and garlic powder. In this instance, garlic powder is a better choice than minced fresh garlic.
Add seasonings to shrimp.
Toss.
Spread shrimp in a single layer in air fryer basket or oven style trays or cook in batches for a basket style fryer. Air fry at 400 degrees F for about 10 minutes - depending on the size of your shrimp, and the wattage of your air fryer - or until cooked through, tossing shrimp and swapping trays halfway. The one big thing with shrimp is that you do not want to overcook them, so it's important to know your air fryer!
