Quick and easy individual pizzas made using Naan flatbread.
Naan Flatbread Pizza
Y'all. I am a nut for pizza!
I love them homemade the best of course, though I'll take a good fresh made grocery store deli pizza too. My husband has a favorite chain he likes and they are really good too!
But, pizza like everything else has become a bit expensive these days. We usually do a medium half pepperoni and half veggie, with a military discount to save a little money. The Cajun goes nowhere without asking for a military discount!
I've made the alternate doughs for pizzas too of course, dough made with baking powder instead of yeast, packets of pizza crust mix, pizzas made with biscuits or French bread, refrigerated pizza crusts, premade shelf stable pizza crusts, and yes, even the ones made using ground beef or cauliflower as a crust.
Lots of options to shortcut that pizza making process these days.

I sure was wrong!
Now, I love naan all on it's own, but never dreamt of making a pizza with them. It was convenient for sure but more importantly, delicious! Hope y'all try it sometime.
Here's how to make a Naan Flatbread Pizza.
There are several brands of naan breads available but one of the more popular ones is Stonefire brand which is what I used. I'm not a brand ambassador or associated with them in any way. Made with real buttermilk and ghee and with no preservatives, they have amazing flavor. I just love them!
I chose the roasted garlic version. They come in a two pack for one personal pizza a piece, although you can certainly increase the recipe as needed. You'll want the original size, not the minis or dippers. Place the flatbreads on a sheet pan or some kind of prep surface you can carry to the oven, placed with the bubbled side up. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Mix up the pizza or substitute marinara sauce or your favorite store bought version. Divide among the flatbreads.
Top with shredded cheese. I'm using an Italian-style blend of pre-shredded cheese containing Mozzarella, Provolone, Parmesan, Romano, Fontina and Asiago. I'm sticking with a cheese version today, but of course add your favorite meat and/or vegetable toppings, keeping in mind some of the toppings may need to be precooked.
Sprinkle lightly with Italian seasoning. Add your other toppings here.
I don't have a garden right now, so I'm using a teaspoon of freeze dried basil (#ad) something that I discovered recently and has sure come in handy. I decided to go ahead and put it on early, but if you are using fresh, save it for when the pizza comes out of the oven.

Carefully transfer pizzas directly to the oven rack in preheated oven and bake for about 8 minutes until everything is heated through and the cheese is melted and very lightly browned. You can place a sheet of foil or a pan under the rack if you like to catch any potential cheese drips. Let rest 5 minutes.
