Seafood Favorites 1
My husband, aka to y'all as The Cajun, loves his seafood.
Anytime I fix supper that is seafood based he talks about how blessed we are here along the Gulf Coast to have such great access to fresh seafood, and he's right!
The best deal of course is when you get out there on a boat and catch it fresh yourself. You can even pull in some good eating right off of a local pier, but buying it at the local fish monger is good too, though you do pay a bit of a premium because somebody else did the work!
But... what if you're landlocked?
No worries because freshly frozen Gulf seafood is available all over the country, just check the origin on the back of your packaging for the best quality and flavor.

Asparagus is a personal favorite of mine and this time of year is the best and freshest you can get. I've included them in this simple skillet meal of nicely seasoned shrimp and pasta.
We love to eat fried shrimp right out of hand as a main dish, right along with some standard fare of potato salad, maybe a cup of gumbo, or other sides, but one of our favorite ways to consume them is as a po'boy.
Also known as crabbies and crab canapes, these start with English muffins, topped with a mixture of crab, mayo, cheese, green onion and seasonings and then passed under the broiler or simply baked and make an excellent light meal for lunch or supper.
These tacos are based on Tex-Mex seasoned grilled shrimp served on grilled fresh corn tortillas and dressed with salsa fresca, onion, cilantro and fresh lime. Delicious!
A restaurant-style dish, made easy at home, with a stuffing made from boudin sausage, then wrapped with well-seasoned jumbo shrimp and served with an easy shortcut demi-glace drizzle.
